Grant awarded through the Minneapolis Parks & Rec Board for their initiative, “Parks for All.” Mural was one of nine murals, each to represent a different park goal. This mural was based off the parks goal #9: To operate a financially sustainable enterprise. Community engagement was done with Friends of the Falls, the American Indian Student Council and Joanna Hill, an Ojibwe plant expert. The mural design was created thanks to these conversations.

Lead artist with Copla Murals on large-scale mural commissioned for the event venue, “Frida’s.” Funding was made possible by the Ocampo family. Community engagement interview done with the owners, learning about their family’s experience moving to Minnesota from Mexico, and their family’s admiration for the artist, Frida Kahlo.

Lead artist and project manager on Copla Murals mural funded through a grant from the City of St Paul. It consists of 6 panels, 3 on either side, under a bridge. The themes for this project were birds, immigration and nature. This mural is located in the Payne / Phalen neighborhood of St Paul. A community conversation was held to hear about what these themes meant to them. The mural on the other (not pictured) side of the bridge depicts birds leaving their various bird houses from a large tree (the tree of life), towards a gloved hand in winter. On this side of the bridge, the birds arrive to a welcoming,  warm Minnesota summer– to a new season of life– where a diverse community builds their new nests.

“Casa de esperanza” (2021) st paul, mn

Lead artist on mural with Copla Murals. Mural was designed as a result of six community engagement sessions with other 80 participants. Workers, volunteers and survivors spoke about their relationships with each other and with “Esperanza United,” an organization dedicated to the survivors of domestic assault.

Lead artist on mural commissioned by organization, “Minnesota Youth Collective.” that centers leadership development of the new generation of movement leaders, leveraging electoral work and issue advocacy as tactics to create a more equitable and just state for all people. The mural was designed with a combination of the artist’s style and the org’s logo, brand colors and a youth focus.
